Greetings Friends!

After the many trips in winter to Ust-Kamenogorsk (the coldest l had ever been, 37 degrees below zero), I was blessed to give out clothing and multivitamins to the least of these, I thank you for taking part in showing the Father's love to the fatherless. After a trip of winter clothing and vitamins, I had to make a trip back with over 200 pairs of warm gloves. As spring started, a visit of friends from Virginia was such a blessing. I saw the hands of God extended not only by friends and families in making their trip possible but also seeing the Lord mightily open the hands of the local store owners to the point of giving out free brand new clothes worth 100s of dollars; it would be called the ripple effect. I'll give more detail on the visit later in the newsletter.

In early spring and late spring (we) were very successful (with) eye operations in correcting crossed eyes for Aygrim and Zana. The testimony of Zana, who had her eye operation exactly a week before her 17th birthday, was that it was the best birthday she had ever had. She thanked the people who supported the operation cost.

Another testimony is of three moms who work with the orphans and accepted the Lord in February as I was there giving out clothing. It was very, very cold and the moms were very touched with how I returned in less than two weeks to give out vitamins and clothing. I shared the Good News in the hall where the children were to receive their warm clothing. Afterwards, the three moms asked 'What makes you so concerned for the good of our orphans?', l led them to Christ and during my third visit to hand out gloves and gave them a Bible. What a difference they would make to that orphanage! THE GRACE OF GOD MAKES WONDERS! May they grow in the knowledge of the Lord!

As May set in, I began the second term of the two years May 2007 – May 2009. I remind my faithful partners, those that do bi-yearly support to the base. The skyrocketing price here the past year is incredible. The monthly rent as of April 2008 for my apartment is $1,000USD. Inflation estimates here are 21% currently. The basic products like bread, milk and meat increased by 70-80% as of September, 2007.

I WITH FEW KIDS AND THEIR CARE TAKER  HAD DONE 2YRS AGO OPERATION TO CORRECT HIS CROSSED EYE.

I felt a need to give out the Word of God and toward that I would like you to join me, as many already started to do. Depending on the size, to get a Bible here costs $3-$7USD. The plan is to give out to 550 orphans 11-17 years old in three orphanages, l do greatly ask your prayer for the Lord's favor and protection as I give them out personally during the summer school break.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED PRAYER AND SUPPORT AS WE TOGETHER SHOWING OUR FATHER'S LOVE TO THE FATHERLESS.

IN CHRIST LOVE

Dereje,
