The
Day Of The Lord!
“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up” 2 Peter 3:10
Right now, you might be rushing to an unknown destination like many to make sense out of life and yet at the end of the day you feel like you need to restart the whole cycle again. There is always this or that thing that keeps you busy to the point where you absolutely have no time to answer the most important questions in life: Where did I come from? Why am I here? Where am I heading?
In the middle of all this fast paced world, the day of the Lord is drawing near. More than 75% of bible prophecies are fulfilled and we are approaching the conclusion of this life as we know it so far. You might say, “It’s just a joke”, but “what if” it’s not? You cannot wait for science to prove it but you’ve got to believe before it’s too late! I encourage you to get ready to face the King of kings and the lords.
Many laugh at this and say why He didn’t come all these years. But the bible gives an adequate answer and here is why.
1. He wants all to come to repentance.
“But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:8-9)
2. He wants to find His church to be in order when He comes.
“Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?” (2 Peter 2:11-12) Remember He is coming for the church who is holy and without blemish, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing. (Ephesians 5:26-27)
Therefore, be at the right place at the right time doing the right thing that the bible teaches and prepare to meet Him in the air.
We have tried many things in life, of which we have no full knowledge as to whether we can get the desired result. But why is it difficult for us to listen to our Creator who proved Himself again and again throughout the history of mankind? Come to Him and rest. Be at peace with Him. Allow Him to be who He is in your life and bring you to a life you should have from the very beginning.
God bless you, Pastor Mesfin Mamo
